As many of you already know, our biggest detox organs in the body are our kidneys and livers. When they're not functioning well, we experience all kinds of unpleasant symptoms. But did you ever consider that the skin, encasing your entire body, could also be an important detox organ. Our two kidneys are a vital part of our detoxification system, along with the liver. Simplistically, they are responsible for filtering toxins and waste from your system. The "third kidney", the skin, is a physical layer that performs many functions such as temperature modulator and barrier to cold, heat and wind, but the quality that gets neglected is the skin's ability to absorb substances.
